On August 20, 2023, at 0158 hours NCPD was monitoring traffic in the 2700 block of Bigler Avenue where a Black Chevrolet Cruze traveling South at a high rate of speed while approaching an intersection and nearing a traffic signal was observed traveling at a rate of speed to where it was in complete disregard to public safety. A traffic stop was subsequently initiated when it was confirmed that there were 5 juvenile passengers in the rear of the vehicle. Upon approaching the vehicle the odor of Marijuana was smelled coming from inside the vehicle. The driver was identified as a minor from Latrobe, PA. A consent to search of the vehicle was conducted which resulted in finding a large amount of Marijuana, an unopened 1.5L bottle of wine, and what appeared to be illicit mushrooms utilized for their hallucinogen effects.
